Dining Room Supervisor, Full-time: Reporting to the Director of Nutrition Services, the Dining Room Supervisor is accountable to manage all aspects of the Dining Room Service in all areas, through effective planning, direction and control, to meet the dining needs of the residents in accordance with federal and state regulations and Solvang Lutheran Home, Inc. policies and procedures.

Supervises dining room staff with duties including: assigning tasks to staff, preparing work schedule, provides guidance as needed and ensures that all tasks are complete in a safe manner, holds monthly safety meetings for department, evaluates, counsels, follows company policies on hiring and termination of staff members and monitors staff in proper appearance in accordance with federal and state health codes and uniform policies.

Responsible for dining room staff time cards, following company procedures on submission of time cards and related payroll and personnel information.

Supervises and assists dining room staff in setting up and tearing down of dining room, serving food and beverages and restocking of supplies, at regularly scheduled meals, private parties and catered events.

Supervises dining room staff in providing effective and courteous service to all residents, guests, supervisors and co-workers.

Responsible for organization of all on-site catered events to include the ordering of supplies, promotional materials, decorating the dining room, proper staffing to ensure set up, service and cleanup is accomplished in a timely manner.

Clinical Nutrition Coordinator, Full-time: Under direct supervision of Nutrition Services Director and works with Director of Nursing and Registered Dietitian of Skilled Nursing Facility. Experience in clinical, managerial and organizational skills. With Registered Dietitian, monitors nutritional status of residents using regular assessments, progress notes and dietary care planning.


Transportation Drivers, Full-time: are responsible for the safe, timely and compassionate transporting of residents to and from medical appointments, activities, outings, special events, shopping trips as well as delivering and picking up items and supplies from lab and other driving needs as required. Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record that meets state, federal and insurance regulations.

Must have and maintain current CPR certification.

Must have and maintain current Basic First Aid certification

Must be capable of operating company vehicles safely.

Ability to lift and carry objects of 50 pounds or less, occasionally

Temporary 6 months assignment


Accounting Clerk:  This is a 32-hour per week benefit-eligible position supporting the office operations of a multi-level senior living community. Under the direction of the Finance/Office Manager, the Accounting Clerk assists with accounts payable and receivables along with other accounting support functions. Will perform filing and general administrative tasks. Assists Medical Records Coordinator with recapping and maintaining patient records. Provides general office support such as answering telephones and other receptionist duties.
High school education or equivalent is required. Must have knowledge of accounting procedures with a minimum of one year of prior accounting experience and have excellent organizational skills. Solid computer skills using Microsoft with an emphasis on Excel and database operations are required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoy working with seniors.

Environmental Services

Environmental Services Representative, Part-Time: Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and infection control practices. Environmental Services duties will vary according to the work location and may include vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, floors, carpets, windows and furniture. This position may also include cleaning outside areas and participating in setup for events and activities. Prior experience is preferred.

Custodian, Full-time: Custodial duties vary in accordance with the working environment and can may include, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms areas, toilets, showers, tubs, cleaning floors, carpets, windows and furniture. Empty trash, clean outside areas including sidewalks, grounds and common areas. Wipe and vacuum cars and golf carts. Setup for events and other activities as assigned.

Follow established safety precautions when using chemicals.

Adhere to company policies, OSHA, CalOSHA, and state and federal safety standard precaution.


Admission Coordinator & Infection Preventionist: Under the direction of the DON, Admission Coordinator/Infection Preventionist (AC/IP) will assist with the ultimate responsibility for admission coordination plans for the total care of each resident to ensure compliance with physicians’ orders, and State and Federal regulations. Provides back-up and support to licensed staff in contacts with physicians, staff and family regarding resident’s needs, facility policies, government regulations and rendering coordination of care by nursing personnel. The (AC/IP) is also responsible for the implementation and follow through of the Infection Prevention and Quality Assurance Program.

Under the direction of the DON, the AC/IP is responsible for the admission/discharge planning of the residents.

Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse, Full-Time, Nights and Evenings: As part of the care team and a patient advocate, the LVN/RN assesses, plans and implements the nursing care of patients in the skilled nurse setting.  Responsible for ensuring continuity of care by providing direct care as well as through supervising the care provided by the Certified Nursing Assistants and other support staff members.

 Health Aides, Full-Time and Part-Time:  Provide support and assistance to residents with activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, eating, medications and social activities. Experience as a Home Health Aide, CNA, EMT, Medical Assistant, or similar experience is preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Full-Time and Part-Time:  Provide support and assistance to residents with activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, eating, and social activities. New grads welcomed.

Activities Coordinator, Full-time Assists Memory Care/Adult Day Care Director in organizing and publish resident activities calendar. Implements daily activities for the Atterdag Memory Care/Adult Day Care per state regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of programs that encourage residents to be active and are designed to meet individual needs and capabilities. The Activities Assistant will spend one-on-one time with residents assisting with modifying activities as needed to maximize resident enjoyment and safety. Prior experience in a retirement community, nursing facility, RCFE or geriatric setting is preferred. Must cross train as a Health Aide and be able to perform duties as needed Tuesday-Saturday, days may change for special events.
